Permissions & Info

NAME: Urbain
CANON: Pokemon Legends: Z-A
AGE: ~18-19ish
Permissions
OUT OF CHARACTER:
⯌ Backtag: Forever & always

⯌ Fourthwall: No

⯌ Threadhopping: Always fine

⯌ Threadjacking: Ask for logs; always okay for network

⯌ Off-Limits: Uninterested in plotlines revolving around noncon/sexual assault (as a primary focus), de-aging, pregnancy, or infidelity/cheating.
IN CHARACTER:
⯌ Physical Contact: Sure!

⯌ Mental Contact: Ask me first so I can set up the thread properly and give you stuff to work with, but otherwise it should be fine.

⯌ Flirt: Go for it! It's up to a coinflip if Urbain gets it or not, SOS.

⯌ Romance: With chemistry! I'm usually more inclined to M/M. Crosscanon is loved. Canon-wise, I don't care to ship with the game's MC (Harmony/Paxton) because of the self-insert nature. If anyone wants to do some toxic yaoi with Corbeau/Urbain hit me up-

⯌ Fight: Let's discuss beforehand. I don't like to write out very long fight threads, nor do I care to RP out Pokemon battles; we can just spin a wheel or roll some dice to see who would win in that scenario.

⯌ Injury: Contact me first; I'm usually okay with this but require some plotting.

⯌ Death: Contact me first

⯌ Triggers: Z-A is a "darker" game than some prior entries; general triggers that could come up include parental death, poverty & homelessness, world-ending weaponry akin to nukes but like not technically nukes, violence from "animals", evil organizations, the goddamn mafia, ecological disasters, and lots of general death. Urbain's specific triggers revolve around the death of his mother and poverty/homelessness. Drop me a line to opt out of anything if needed.
Info & Headcanons
CANON INFO:
Canon info can be found here! A very short summary for people who don't have time for a wiki page/don't need a summary of a Pokemon game is: Urbain's mom died when he was a younger teenager of what's said to be a combination of work burnout and an illness, leaving him orphaned for a good chunk of his life. His jacket is a memento from her. Urbain tends to err on the side of being extremely self-efficient, likely due to the trauma of essentially raising himself (as far as we know his dad was never around/they don't know who he is, and he had no other family to turn to), and generally being very helpful in a way that can be overbearing at times. Also he canonically makes TikToks this is a thing, this is how he thinks he's going to get money to fix up the hotel he lives at. He gets in trouble with the mob for borrowing money and not paying it back, and he Can Cook but the dishes he makes (croissant curry) are a bit cursed. The boy is a bit of a wreck.

During the end of the main part of the game, Urbain climbs Prism Tower (basically the Eiffel Tower, they're in fantasy France) to deactivate "Ange", which in layman's terms is essentially a device that will make everyone immortal if the attack from it fully launches. In the process, the deactivation fails and causes the Pokemon Floette to go insane and fuse with it, trapping Urbain in the tower and sowing strife throughout the city as it comes to life. After a very lengthy rescue mission by other characters, the Pokemon Zygarde ends the battle by blowing up the tower & Ange with him and Floette still trapped in it, and the two manage to survive the encounter (checks notes) completely unscathed because it's Pokemon and they can't change the ESRB.
HEADCANONS:
Character age: Most Pokemon protagonists tend to skew on the younger side both mentally and physically. The friend group in Z-A are stated to be older than in prior entries, but no specific ages are given. Considering the time skip between the prior game, X/Y, and Z-A, as well as the information available, I usually play Urbain as around 18-19ish.

The Horrors™: Anyway so we can all agree that Urbain probably would've nearly died from a whole tower exploding on him, right—
I have several headcanons around this, but the core one is that he came out of that with several grevious injuries and has a lot of scars to show for it, some on the face and most on the rest of his body. From there are a couple of more body horror adjacent headcanons I'm willing to play with:
⯌ Being in the tower while Floette/Ange went insane and the tower came to life caused him to somewhat fuse with it; think plant-based body horror a la this fanart. This would have been removed from him after being rescued (probably surgically) and caused a lot of the scarring.
AND/OR
⯌ Being trapped in the tower amongst Ange's energy, which makes people immortal, would have functionally made Urbain immortal as it did with AZ and L before him. Love the horror of outliving everyone you've ever known l m a o.
Abilities & Inventory
POKEMON TEAM:
I usually opt to play him as having the team that would be used if the player character chooses Tepig as a starter (screenshotted); Eternal Flower Floette could optionally be swapped in depending on what we're doing. I also opt on the side of not getting rid of your mega stones lmao, so he'll have additional access to mega evolve Meganium and Manetric too.
HIGH PHYSICAL ENDURANCE
While still human, it's also anime, which means normal slightly inhuman endurance applies (to a degree). Parkour is a huge part of the culture in Lumiose and he's able to survive an entire tower exploding on him and (probably, if Gamefreak weren't cowards) nearly killing him, so he's likely extremely very physically fit. On top of the fact that he's good at dodging attacks aimed at him, since the Pokemon in the wild zones there are kind of, uh, murderous.
